When a truly fine restaurant is discovered, proclaiming its virtues are matched only by the pleasure of enjoying the food, savoring every item from the Boston bib to the cheese cake. Lexington Arms is such a place, located a few blocks from the Lexington County Courthouse on downtown Main Street. Since the chef is German, we were advised to dine on German Nights,Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights. The portions are generous prohibiting this diner from ordering dessert while my companion selected the New York style cheese cake. Lighter and sweeter than most cheesecakes, it also had a delicate piecrust. The desserts are also homemade. Be sure to ask your server about daily specials and other notable menu selections.
